Hosted Service vs. Self-Hosting
These Terms of Service apply to the hosted service provided at curiositi.xyz. If you choose to self-host Curiositi on your own infrastructure, you are responsible for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding your data and users. The AGPL-3.0 license governs your use of the software itself, while these terms govern your use of our hosted service.
AGPL-3.0 License Terms
Under the GNU Affero General Public License v3:
- You are free to use, copy, modify, and distribute the software
- You must make the source code available to users who interact with the software over a network
- You must license derivative works under AGPL-3.0
- The software is provided as is without warranty

3. Account Registration
To use Curiositi, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Be at least 13 years of age
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
4. Description of Service
Curiositi provides a workspace for organizing files, links, notes, and ideas with AI-powered search and assistance. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time.
5. User Content
Your Content
You retain all rights to the content you upload to Curiositi. You are solely responsible for your content and warrant that you have the right to upload it.
License to Curiositi
By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. This includes using your content to power AI features like search and summarization.
Prohibited Content
You may not upload content that:
- Violates any law or regulation
- Infringes on intellectual property rights
- Contains malware or harmful code
- Is defamatory, abusive, or harassing
- Contains illegal or prohibited material
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any illegal purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service
- Interfere with the service operation or other users
- Scrape or collect data from the service without permission
- Reverse engineer or decompile the hosted service infrastructure or backend systems

7. Subscription and Payment
Curiositi offers both free and paid subscription plans. For paid plans:
- Fees are charged in advance on a recurring basis
- You authorize us to charge your payment method
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
- You may cancel at any time through your account settings
- No refunds for partial months
8. Intellectual Property
The hosted service at curiositi.xyz, including its content, features, and functionality, is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the hosted service without our permission. This does not affect your rights under the AGPL-3.0 license described in Section 2 regarding the open-source software.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination:
- Your right to use the service ceases immediately
- We may delete your account and content
- Provisions that should survive termination will survive
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
Curiositi is provided as is without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We do not warrant that AI-generated content will be accurate or appropriate for your needs.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service or violation of these terms.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Curiositi operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
14. Changes to Terms
We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
